高校検定教科書の「言語活動」について

This paper deals with language activities in authorized English textbooks written for Japanese high school students. It compares selected versions of the required subject "English Course I." Being a general language course, "English Course I " comprises reading and writing activities as well as speaking exercises and listening drills. This makes possible the sequencing of tasks, i.e., chaining of activities together to form a sequence. Task sequences can be designed according to the focus of a textbook. School textbooks for Japanese learners started focusing on communicative activities after the revision of the Course of Study in 1998. Thus, analysis is centered on sequences having various communicative goals.
