中国共産党の対チベット政策

This study is a part of the master degree thesis on Tibet that covers the religious policy of CCP (Chinese Communist Party) toward Tibet. For the last 50 years of 20th century, various policies by CCP have been undertaken into Tibet. Up to now, however, they are not always successful. On the contrary, it can be recognized that antagonistic feeling of Tibetan people against Hanzu race has been even accelerated. This is why one of reasons for it may be attributed to the religious policy of CCP toward Tibet. This is an author's hypothesis. Tibetan Buddhism is the very spiritual axis of Tibetan people which dominates their way of thinking as well as their politics, habits and customs. The religion regulates their life as a whole. It can be said their identity has originated from Buddhism. Religion, politics and social life are one thing. From this hypothesis, two focuses are put on this study, firstly, religious policy of CCP, and secondly, social reform policy backed by class struggle theory. Up to the Republic of China period until 1949, traditional central government neither had any power to introduce religious policy and nor to proceed social reform. They only sticked to political unification that Tibet was a part of China, letting religion and social stratum remain unchanged. CCP, however, after realization of political unification has begun to undertake to separate religion from politics since 1958. This is the very start of tragedy and turmoil of Tibetan people, though it is recognized freedom of religion in the Constitution. What is more, CCP has tried to change the spirit of Tibetan through education. The author analyzes how CCP has practiced this policy and what results were produced.
